Lucky for you, you'll set off from prime base at Stourport, departing for your three or four-night hire the River Severn and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canals. Starline Narrowboats have even compiled a handy list of suggested routes - The Droitwich Ring will see you soar through a mixture of 34 canal and river locks, The River Avon sees you glide alongside country estates, fine old churches, ancient towns, picturesque villages, and even former watermills, or depart from Stourport to Tewkesbury on The River Severn - the longest river in Great Britain at 220 miles. All aboard!

More Information

Please note route availability is subject to river levels and C&RT maintenance work. All hires are subject to merchant's terms and conditions of hire, which lead hirer must sign prior to or on arrival and before departure from Stourport. Persons piloting boat cannot consume alcohol. *Diesel excluded and cost of fuel needed to top up boat on return will be deducted from security deposit (fuel charged at dock rate on date of return). Fishing is permitted but you must hold a license.

Boat pick-up is at 1.30pm, if not advised otherwise, and must be vacated by 9.30am on return day. Late returns incur a £50 charge per hour (or part of it).

The Fine Print

  • One voucher per hire.
  • May buy multiples as gifts.
  • Valid for stays on selected dates until 30th Apr 2026.
  • Friday starts other than between the above dates subject to a supplement of £15/boat supplement payable directly to the merchant.
  • Valid for either 3 or 4 nights (midweek Mon-Fri / weekend Fri-Mon).
  • Not valid on existing bookings, vouchers cannot be used consecutively.
  • Well-behaved dogs are permitted on Western Star Dawn Star Dark Star & Star Gazer.
  • £35 supplement per dog plus an additional security deposit of £25 per dog payable to the merchant
  • Persons piloting boats cannot consume alcohol.
  • Fishing is permitted but must have a valid licence (no live bait allowed inside the cabin).
  • All hires are subject to merchants’ Terms & Conditions of hire which the Lead Hirer must sign before or on arrival and before departure from Stourport.
  • 1 full gas bottle and 1 part-full supplied.
  • £125 booking/security deposit per boat - refunded if the boat returned in good order. (£150 for North Star and Star Gazer)
  • Unless otherwise agreed by the merchant in writing Skipper plus 1 other must be over 18 years old
  • Same-sex groups welcome but security deposit increased to £500.
  • In the event of late booking payment for insurance excess, inventory deposit, and supplements must be paid in cleared funds by cash, accepted debit/credit cards, or bank transfer before the boat leaves the Stourport base.
